LEADING VOICE ON HOUSING, CITIES AND POWER IN THE WORKPLACE
Commissioner | Attorney | Writer
ABOUT MEFirst, let me tell you how I got here.
That’s me, below, at about 9 years old.
I felt on top of the world because my family took a trip to Disney World. “We’re rich!” I thought . (Reader, we were never rich). Shortly after this picture was taken, my family suffered job loss. Bills. Stress. That was when I learned that life can change at the snap of a finger.
So here’s WHAT I DO…
2. I decide housing policy.
You know that RENT FREEZE that Mayor Zohran Mamdani talks about?
I was on the board that votes for it! Former NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed me to represent tenants and I successfully advocated for TWO rent freezes. I helped make rent affordable for 2 million rent stabilized tenants.
Helped 2 million tenants
3. I use the court system to reshape power.

PHILOSOPHYMy voice is my most powerful tool. In addition to writing and practicing law, I’ve spoken at over 20 universities and institutions worldwide to share my vision for housing policy and legal reform. I’ve been a keynote speaker at Stanford Law School, SXSW and more.
